Privacy Policy.

Note for the client: This document is a base template in compliance with the LFPDPPP (Mexican data protection law). Before publishing in production, it must be reviewed by a specialized attorney to ensure it accurately reflects the actual data handling practices of Newman Institute of the Oratory.

1. Identity and address of the Data Controller

Instituto Newman del Oratorio, located at Nogales 305, Jardín, 88670 Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, identified with RFC EII990903HU5, hereinafter "the Controller" or "the Institute", is responsible for the processing of your personal data in accordance with Mexico's Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP), its Regulations, and other applicable laws.

2. Personal data collected

The Institute collects the following personal data, depending on the type of interaction:

From parents or guardians

  • Full name
  • Official ID
  • Proof of address
  • Phone, mobile and/or WhatsApp number
  • Email address
  • Basic employment information (optional)
  • Relationship to the student (father, mother, guardian)

From the student or candidate

  • Full name, date of birth, CURP (Mexican ID)
  • Birth certificate
  • Academic history and prior report cards
  • Basic medical certificate and health data relevant to educational care
  • Photographs for school ID and internal identification
  • Emergency contacts

The Institute does not collect sensitive personal data beyond what is strictly necessary for educational and student health purposes.

3. Purposes of processing

Primary purposes (necessary)

  • Admissions, evaluation, and enrollment process
  • Provision of educational services during the school year
  • Administrative and academic communication with parents or guardians
  • Issuance of certificates, report cards, and official documentation
  • Basic medical and emergency care for the student
  • Billing, collection, and accounting procedures
  • Compliance with obligations to educational authorities (SEP) and tax authorities (SAT)

Secondary purposes (optional)

  • Sending institutional communications (events, newsletters, invitations)
  • Publishing photos or audiovisual material of the student on social media and promotional material, with prior written consent
  • Internal statistical analysis to improve services

You can opt out of secondary purposes by emailing [email protected]. This refusal will not affect the educational services requested.

4. Data transfers

The Institute may transfer your personal data to:

  • Federal and state educational authorities (Secretariat of Public Education)
  • Tax authorities (Tax Administration Service)
  • Health institutions, in case of emergency medical care
  • Pharr Oratory of St. Philip Neri School System, exclusively in cases of academic transfer requested by the family
  • External auditors, subject to a confidentiality agreement

For the transfers listed, pursuant to Article 37 of the LFPDPPP, your consent is not required. For any other transfer, your prior consent will be requested.

5. Exercise of ARCO Rights

You have the right to Access, Rectify, Cancel, or Oppose the processing of your personal data (ARCO Rights), and to revoke consent or limit the use or disclosure of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, send a request to [email protected] with the following information:

  • Full name and contact details
  • Documents that prove your identity or legal representation
  • Clear description of the right you wish to exercise and the data involved
  • Any other element that helps locate your data

The Institute will respond within a maximum of 20 business days, as established by the LFPDPPP.

6. Use of cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses first- and third-party cookies to improve browsing experience, collect anonymous usage statistics, and where applicable, display personalized content. The cookies used are:

  • Necessary cookies: essential for site operation (language preferences, session).
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4, to anonymously understand usage patterns.
  • Marketing cookies: Meta Pixel, where applicable, for social media campaigns.

You can accept, reject, or configure optional cookies from the banner that appears upon entering the site. Your decision is stored in your browser and can be modified at any time by clearing site cookies.

7. Data retention

The Institute will retain personal data for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, and in compliance with legal obligations (academic, tax, health). Academic records are retained indefinitely as required by educational authorities. Data of non-accepted candidates is canceled after two years.

8. Modifications to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may undergo modifications, changes, or updates due to new legal requirements, our own needs related to the products or services we offer, or our privacy practices.

Any modification will be communicated to data subjects through publication on this same web page. The date of the last update appears at the beginning of the document.

9. Regulatory authority

If you believe your right to personal data protection has been violated by any conduct of our employees or actions, or you suspect a violation of the LFPDPPP, you may file a complaint with INAI (National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information, and Protection of Personal Data) at www.inai.org.mx .

By providing your personal data to Newman Institute of the Oratory, whether through forms on this website, email, phone, or any other means, you acknowledge having read, understood, and accepted the terms of this Privacy Policy.
